Some of the sport that I enjoy include Rollerblading, Mountain Biking, Volleyball, Snowboarding, Surfing, Fishing, Rogaining. Other sport that I enjoy but don't play include Australian Rules Football and Cricket.
Snow Boarding:
I have only tried Snowboarding
once (not much snow in Australia). But when I gave it a try it
was excellent fun. If you ever get a chance then definitely give
it a try. You won't be sorry.
Mounting Biking:
Though I have had a mountain bike for quite some time now I really have done any mountain biking in the bush until recently. Some friend and I have recently gone bush with our bikes and all I can say is that it is some of the best fun that you can possibly have. We have become hooked on the sport, going out at least once a month. If you have a mountain bike and live close to some bike trails then I seriously recommend that you give it a shot. If you don't own a mountain bike then go out and get one and give it a try.
Rollerblading:
I brought a pair of roller blades a couple of years ago and
know I am a keen convert to the sport. I am lucky enough to live
close to the linear park bike way. This bike path stretches the
entire length of the River Torrens (about 25 kms), so is perfect
for rollerblading. Again if you haven't tried it, rent a pair
today and give it a shot, just don't give up if you fall over
for the first few times. It takes a little getting use to, but
once you get the hang of it, you will be right. ![]()
Volleyball:
I use to play this sport seriously when I was back in High school, but now days I just play it for a bit of fun and some stress relieve. A group of friend from Uni and I play at Prince Alfred College every Monday Nights.
Surfing:
This is a sport that I love, however it is also a sport that I just can't do. Try as I might, I just can't get the hang of this one. I paddle as hard as I can just to get out past the break, only to find out that I just don't have what it takes to catch a wave back in. I think I should just stick to Boggy boarding, it is a hell of a lot easier. When I go surfing I usually go with my house mate Kerri and her friend Mel. We normally go down to Parsons, Waypinga or Boomers. The surf that you get at these beach normally varies day to day but as surf beaches go they are not to bad.
Fishing:
Well this title is a bit of a lie really. When I mean fishing I really mean drinking. Every Easter my Dad, some other relative and I go camping just over the New South Wale side of the boarder on the Murray River. We throw a couple of token fishing line in the river to justify the trip, but this is really just a long weekend to get away from it all and have some much deserved stress relieve. We normally only catch a couple of fish for 4 days worth of fishing. Still its the long weekend that I look forward to the most.
Rogaining:
I was only introduced to this sport a couple of years ago. If you have never heard of it then you are probably not alone. It is in reality an orienteering event which just happens to go for 24 hours. Yep, that right, 24 straight hours. The event starts at 12 noon and finishes the next day at noon. Some people take the sport very seriously and run from check point to check point for 24 hour. The people that I go with however don't take it that seriously and just find it a good excuse to have a pleasant walk in the great outdoors.
Beer Brewing:
This is best explained using Greg's page.
