Places
I have been
In middle of a South Australian
winter in 1996, I packed my backpack and set off with two good
friends (Bevan and Jo) to Europe and Asia for a nine week holiday
in their summer. During this time I visited some of the world's
greatest cities.
Some of the cool thing that we did on my Holiday include:
- Getting completely lost in Bangkok (That place is huge)
- Visiting the Grand Place of Thailand
- Eating authentic Thai food with a good friend of ours from
Thailand
- Visiting a real English pub and drinking real English beer
(Yes it is really served warm)
- Going shopping in the Candem markets and visiting Soho for
tea
- Using the Underground subways in the cities we visited (We
don't have any in Adelaide)
- Going to the PRIDE festival at Clapham Common
- Seeing the ancient ruins of Pompeii and Rome as well as the
many treasures
- Using the MacWash in McDonalds in Rome (Civilisation will
go no future until every body gets one of these)
- Seeing the art treasures of Florence (I Love this place)
- Riding on the canals of Venice
- Arriving in Vienna for their 1000 year birthday, watching
opera outside the town hall and listening to a Mozart Concert
outside the Shronburg Place
- The shear beauty of Prague
- Drinking 1 Litre Steins of Beer at a German Beer House
- Seeing the remaining parts of the Berlin Wall
- Meeting Bevan's host parents and friend from his stay in
Monhiem back in 1991
- Bike riding in the Netherlands
- Touring the old tunnels of Luxembourg
- Doing all the tourist things in Pairs
- Travelling down the western coast of France by car
I am so glad that I managed to do this trip at that particular
time of my life. I will undoubtably leave a lasting impression
on my life forever.
I have also travelled extensively through out Australia. Recently
I went to the Northern Territory and visited some of Australia
National Parks (Famous and not)
- Darwin itself is a great city, the weather during the dry
season is fantastic, though they tell me the wet is hell
- Litchefiled is just paradise on earth. If your ever in the
NT, visit here
- Materanca, thermal springs, need I say more
- Katherine Gorge is also with a good look, but I didn't spend
much time here though
- The Bungle Bungles are definitely worth a look, though you
need a four wheel drive to get to them
- Kakadu, a huge place well worth a look

Other place that I have been include Sydney, the Hunter Valley,
Melbourne, the Gold Coast, Byron Bay and lots of great little
small town in between that are just too numerous to mention.
